About Gold

A golden boy with a heart of gold!

This beautiful young dog has been surrendered to us following a change in circumstances of his owners. We are heartbroken for him that he finds himself at the sanctuary having been used to a life of love and comfort. But we’re also sure that he will find a new home very soon.

As you can see, Gold is a purebred golden retriever. He is currently 33kg and will probably do a bit more growing. He has the loveliest nature to match his lovely looks!

Gold is child tested and will make an excellent addition to a family. Although he lived with a toddler in his previous home we will only consider homes with children over the age of 8.

From what we’ve seen so far, Gold responds well to other dogs, even wagging happily at an unneutered male that greeted him through his kennel gate. Of course all introductions must be done carefully, but we believe that he could join a home with another resident dog.

Gold walks well on a lead and is used to living in a home (he was housetrained). Constantina has spent quite some time with him and she says that he’s one of the best dogs she’s met. He behaved beautifully at the vet when we took him and he takes treats very nicely. He is calm and polite, friendly and playful. He’s just a really lovely young dog!

Gold will not be neutered as he’s still too young. His adopter must neuter him when he is the right age and we will want proof of neutering. Other than that, he is fully vaccinated and ready to fly.
